CHARACTER CREATION GUIDE
1. Have an idea for your character. This must be an OC (Original Character) and will greatly help you in the long run if you have something in mind on how you want your character to be in the future as well as how you want them at creation.
2. You need a character sheet! Be it Human, Shinigami or Hollow you will need to use the correct form. Simple enough? When it comes to making your new character, all you will need to do is copy and paste the information into the form! Easy!
3. The basics are simple. Name, age and gender should all be very easily answerable questions. Do not worry about more specific details yet, as they will be covered in Appearance. Your rank is up to you, however if you work from the bottom up your power will be much greater than someone that starts at rank 20. Shinigami also have Division and Sub-Division listed. You can choose one of the 13 divisions to be a part of. Sometimes people change divisions, but that is dealt with after RP.
4. Stats are your first change this site has compared to many others, as you may have seen few sites have stats. Each of the stats listed on your sheet start automatically at a certain number depending on your rank, you will then have a number of points to spread around.
5. If you are a human or a Hollow, you start off the number of power appropriate to your rank. The first power is a very simple power that has a simple use. For example, You may make a hollow that can spit acidic glue or a human that can teleport short distances. The staff will help guide you in how powerful this ability can be. For Shinigami who have a Zanpakutō, this is the place that you describe your blade, the manifestation it takes and the Inner world (the world the Zanpakutō stays in). Although your character may not know what that is just yet, the result is always constant and unchanging. Design it now and use it when it comes about. REMEMBER: A picture is not a substitute for a description. Always write it down, even if you have a picture.
6. Next is Projected Power / Zanpakutō / Hollow Power Growth. This is like a sketch pad where you can write down how you want your powers to progress later on when you achieve better ranks, and any new powers you may wish to add later. Although these are not set in stone, it gives the staff ideas as to how your character will grow and is very good for you to help plan out your characters future growth. This however must be in line with previous powers, so a Shinigami with a fire Zanpakutō ability cannot suddenly learn to freeze people in ice.
NOTE: A Shinigami does not gain access to their Shikai until Rank 5 and their Bankai until Rank 15.
7. Special covers anything not covered by your races power. Things like a keen ability to sew or martial arts, or a particularly good artist. Any miscellaneous skills go here, but obviously nothing like. “Can build a nuclear device out of paper mache.”
8. Appearance is where you list the physical appearance of your character in detail. This needs to be at least two paragraphs in length and can cover things like a certain swagger in their walk, eye and hair color / style, as well as clothing and accessories if any. Be as detailed as you want. For Hollows, you have to fill in two sections, two paragraphs on your hollow form, and one paragraph on your mortal form. The reason your mortal form is listed, is because if you were to become an Arrancar, it would return. REMEMBER AGAIN: A picture is not a substitute for good writing skill. We want to see how you can put a picture into words.
9. Personality is very very important. At least two paragraphs are needed to describe how your character acts and thinks. Use examples of situations to describe how your character would react, list dislikes and likes and otherwise do what you can to make the Staff really feel what your character is about.
10. Your characters history is also a big part in what you do. Were they happy before death or miserable, are they still alive and how do they deal with the real world? All of these things and the events that shape your character can be listed here.
11. Sample RP will show us a little bit more in depth on how you want to play your character. A longer example and more detailed RP will give us much more faith in accepting you for the site. It also gives us a lot of information as to how your character views the world, but mainly it is used so you can finalize how your character should act and breath that life into a set of numbers. Spend time on this and take pride in your work.
12. Submit your character to the appropriate board! Two Staff members need to accept your application for you to start RP’ing, so if they need changes made they will ask you. It is also good etiquette to listen to a previous staff’s advice, change what is needed rather then bugging another mod to accept you in their stead.
13. Good luck!
